Prayers Up: Yandy Smith Is In Critical Condition After Suffering From Serious Disease

During her appearance on Detox Living with Coach Gessie and Angela Yee, Yandy Smith-Harris opened up about her painful battle with fibroids.

Yandy shared that her initial contact with Coach Gessie was on behalf of her sister, who was grappling with PCOS, fibroids, and endometriosis. However, as she navigated her sister’s health crisis, Yandy found herself on her own health journey.

Coach Gessie visited Yandy’s home, and they had a meaningful session with her sister. Yandy revealed, “It was something so needed because I didn’t even realize I needed it. I thought this was for her, this is what she needs. Then, I found out I have fibroids too.”

Yandy went on to explain that her fibroids began to degenerate, leading to a hospitalization scare. She almost had to deliver her son, Omere, prematurely.

“The doctor prescribed some strong medications, and they told me, ‘You have fibroids, and they are degenerating.’ This condition was debilitating; I couldn’t even stand,” Yandy recounted.

She admitted feeling physically and emotionally drained. Coach Gessie recommended a fruit fast, and within two weeks, Yandy noticed a significant improvement. She began to feel healthier and more mentally clear.

Fibroids are primarily non-cancerous growths that develop in and around the uterine wall, causing various health issues, such as excruciating pain, heavy bleeding, blood clots, infertility, and negative maternal health outcomes, particularly for Black and Brown women. Yandy’s willingness to share her story on this often-taboo issue contributes to raising awareness about fibroids and the available options for women suffering in silence. These solutions combine nutrition, stress management, herbal supplements, and, when necessary, surgical interventions to address and prevent fibroids in an integrative manner.
